SunGuard Energy String Box Intelligent

SG-QDC32/16

Intelligent StringBox, from 8 to 32 strings.

SunGuard String Boxes install on any type of inverter and plant. They monitor the current of each string and can be equipped with a shunt trip coil.

They communicate with the SunGuard Box via RS485 and integrate a 24VDC power supply and an additional serial port for one or more Sensor Boxes.

Electronics

SunGuard Electronic Board for string control

Current control inside our StringBox units is performed by the electronic board for string control. From 8 to 32 channels with Hall-effect or shunt sensors. RS485 communication port, 24 VDC power supply, Modbus protocol.

Features

Designed to last in the field.

String monitoring

12 Hall sensors of 50A for 2 inputs each. Continuous current measurement on every string, acquired in real time and transmitted to the SunGuard platform.

Integrated protections

Type 2 surge arrester at 1000V with three self-protected varistors. String fuses 10/12A 1000Vdc 10×38 on all inputs. Main disconnector 4×280A with 2 poles in parallel; shunt trip coil and remote signalling on request.

RS485 communication

Modbus RTU protocol at 9600 bps, mechanical addressing from 1 to 254. Additional serial port for connecting one or more SunGuard Sensor Boxes.

Installation

Screw terminals on 32 inputs, incoming cables max 64×6mm² via cable gland. LED indicators for active current and 24VDC power supply. Class 2, double insulation.

Platform

From the string to the Operations Centre, every five minutes.

Data

Current and status, in real time.

The String Box communicates with the SGE datalogger via RS485 Modbus RTU. Current data for each string is acquired every 5 minutes, transmitted to the Operations Centre and made available on the cloud dashboard, with history and reporting.

Alarms

Before the drop in production becomes a mystery.

Production anomalies, tripped arresters or strings out of parameter generate alarms with configurable escalation — and notification to the NOC and, where provided, to the plant manager.
