Every SunGuard Energy service relies on high-performance instrumentation. Proprietary dataloggers and carefully selected field devices, designed to guarantee precise and continuous monitoring on plants of any size.
Grid
The Central Plant Controller is the device required by grid regulations to govern the power fed into the grid. SunGuard supplies it, installs it and integrates it into monitoring: a node visible on the platform, not a standalone object.
The rack brings together a power quality analyzer, communications and protections. The SGE datalogger unifies a heterogeneous inverter fleet and communicates with the CCI over a single interface, in compliance with TERNA and CEI 0-16.

In the field
Field
The SGE datalogger is the device we designed and produce in-house: the point where the plant starts to communicate with the Operations Center.
It connects to inverters, meters, network analyzers, field combiner boxes and central controllers, acquires the electrical parameters and transmits them securely to the SunGuard cloud. The driver library covers over fifty brands and 3,651 devices, including installations from the last twenty years.
A local buffer protects the data in case of connectivity loss; the firmware updates remotely. Not a third-party adapter: the physical heart of SunGuard monitoring.
Environment
Without a reliable measurement of the environment, the production figure remains an orphan number. SunGuard weather sensors provide the context: irradiance, module and cell temperature, wind.
Pyranometers, probes and anemometers integrate natively with the SGE datalogger. The Performance Ratio arises from this continuous comparison between expected yield and actual energy.
The values flow into the same platform as the inverters: a single timeline, a single analysis. For multi-site portfolios, it makes different plants comparable using the same metric.

Regulation
When one or more plants share a connection point, peak power is not a contractual detail: it is an electrical constraint. The SunGuard controller respects it.
We regulate grid injection according to the limits set by the operator, coordinating inverters and plant sections. The system works in tandem with the dataloggers and, where required, with the CCI.
Every regulation action remains traced. It is a control product, not a dashboard add-on: it comes from electrical experience in the field.

Visibility
SunGuard displays highlight instantaneous production, energy for the day, environmental contribution and service status. Indoor and outdoor, powered by the cloud platform: the same operational truth the NOC sees, made readable to passers-by.
Completion
A monitoring system also stands on the details: interfaces, auxiliary power supplies, outdoor enclosures, cabling, protocol adapters.
We select and supply the accessories that complete the SGE architecture, consistent with the dataloggers, enclosures and sensors already in the field. It is not a generic warehouse: every element is chosen for durability and compatibility.
For existing plants, accessories make it possible to integrate devices from other eras without rebuilding the plant around the monitoring. If an accessory is not in the catalogue, we assess it.
Platform
The cloud platform is where the plant becomes governable: KPI dashboards, alarms, reports, commands, history. Our own application, multi-asset, accessible from a browser.
From the portfolio map you drill down to the detail of inverter, string and sensor, without changing tools. Anomaly detection classifies the events; the Operations Centre validates them.
It is not just a viewer: it is the operational arm of the NOC. Hardware and software, as always, belong to the same project.
